Megan has experience in the field of substance abuse and mental health in a supervisory capacity. Megan works with our clinicians and staff to ensure we are remaining up to date on various techniques, utilizing our sessions appropriately and offering suggestions on ways we can each grow as clinicians to best serve our clientele. Megan believes that growth is often uncomfortable, messy and full of feelings you weren’t experiencing, but necessary!

Alyssa Bohonan, LMHC

Alyssa is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with experience working with children, adolescents, and adults with a range of mental health and/or substance use disorders in both the inpatient psychiatric hospital setting and outpatient mental health setting. Alyssa utilizes different therapeutic techniques such as cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, psycho-education, etc. to help guide individuals with their specific needs throughout their therapeutic journey. Alyssa is passionate about helping people find comfort and confidence in their decision to help themselves. She feels strongly about providing her clients with space to express themselves however they may need to without judgement or bias’.

RACHEL RIGOLINO, LMHC
SENIOR CLINICIAN

Rachel received her Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Nyack College and subsequently earned her license in the field. Most recently, she supported adolescents and families impacted by eating disorders. In this role, Rachel provided individual, group and family therapy and navigated crisis situations as well.

 

Rachel’s clinical experience furthermore includes treating areas like mood and personality disorders, self-harm and suicidal ideation/behaviors, relational conflicts, career counseling as well as processing traumatic experiences. Working from a person-centered foundation, Rachel helps clients hold on to their sense of hope through life’s challenges and teaches therapeutic techniques to assist in stabilizing one’s mental health. Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy are examples of treatment modalities Rachel utilizes for such needs.

Beyond coping skills, Rachel believes that clients benefit from exploring their personal stories and core beliefs to become more aware of how their inner world affects their daily lives. Rachel is honored to be part of this process and looks forward to engaging in honest conversations with her clients.

Amanda has now joined our team as an intake coordinator while going back to college to pursue her master degree in Social Work. Ann Marie is a NYS Licensed Mental Health Counselor with specialty certifications in trauma, emdr, and compassion fatigue. She has eight years of experience providing services in behavioral health settings and private practice. Ann Marie provides a safe space to explore difficult emotions with an empathetic ear and compassionate heart. She works with individuals with mental health concerns of anxiety, depression, grief, caregiver stress, chronic health issues (cancer), intimate partner violence, and complex trauma. 

Ann Marie’s personal journey as an adoptee examining her own adoption trauma, solidified her desire to empower others to dig deeper into the connection between past trauma and our ability to maintain healthy, secure attachments in interpersonal relationships.  She believes in the capacity to heal old wounds to help facilitate individual growth. This becomes possible using evidence-based trauma-informed therapy, CBT, emdr therapy within a collaborative, therapeutic relationship. Mindfulness training, progressive muscle relaxation, guided imagery, and emotional freedom technique (tapping) can assist you by relaxing the body and mind as you work through discomfort.

Jessica has been a human service professional on Long Island for the last 20 years. Jessica received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Stony Brook University, earned her MSW at Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College with a specialization in Mental Health, and is currently a doctoral student at Adelphi University. Jessica is trained in Child-Parent Psychotherapy, among other techniques for supporting families with babies and young children. Jessica has had the privilege of providing therapeutic treatment to families involved in the child welfare and criminal justice systems. She has also served as a field supervisor to graduate students in the Infant Mental Health and Developmental Practice Program at Adelphi University. Her areas of interest are working with immigrants, young children, and adult populations who present with significant mental health needs and a history of trauma.

Lynn Wohland is a Board Certified and Licensed Creative Arts Therapist who has years of experience working in both inpatient and partial hospital behavioral health settings with people facing a variety of mental health challenges.  She also worked with adolescents placed in congregate foster care for legal transgressions or unsafe home situations. The use of art therapy in addition to talking provides opportunity for exploration of thoughts and emotions in a creative and tangible way, often bringing relief of emotional discomfort, increasing awareness, expression and acceptance of authentic self.  The benefit comes with the process of creating and is for all ages with no artistic experience or skills needed.  Lynn has a person-centered approach and incorporates aspects of trauma-informed care, mindfulness, attachment styles, psycho-education, and strength-based interventions. Addressing the person as a whole may include elements of spirituality for those who are interested. Melanie has experience working with adolescents, adults, Veterans, and geriatric populations. Recognizing the uniqueness of each individual’s circumstances, she tailors her therapy using an integrative and person-centered approach, emphasizing your expertise in your own life.
